So far, sellers have told us of two special items going into the Origins Live Game Auction.
Charles Crain, former CEO of Ral Partha, died last year. His widow is putting in a large chunk of his private miniature collection into this year's auction. The collection has mostly bookshelf games from every company you can think of: SPI, GDW, TSR, Steve Jackson, Avalon Hill, FASA, Mayfair, Clash of Arms, GMT, Parker Brothers, Milton Bradly, Victory Games, Avalanche Press, Task Force, West End Games, Jeux Descartes, EMS, Simulations Canada, Euro Games, and many others. There are even a few copies of Ral Partha's attempt to enter the game market.
An Origins I original onsite convention booklet (yes, from 1975 !) from the Fonarow Collection
On Saturday at 7:00 PM, the Origins Live Game Auction will hold a charity auction in honor of Gary Gygax. To find out more about the Christian Children's Fund, please see their website: http://www.christianchildrensfund.org/
We will also be accepting items from gamers and manufacturers for this charity event.

Participating in the auction or buying from the consignment store requires wearing your Origins badge
The auction is run by a staff of volunteers. These volunteers are allowed to buy items from the consignment store and bid on live auction items. They get no discounts.
Volunteers are reimbursed with free badges to the convention, and possible free food, lodging and travel expenses, depending on how many hours they work. We always need more volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, email Katie, our manager cmfountaine@gmail.com
You can pre-register your games here or you can procrastinate and register them on our computers at the auction.
If pre-registered on website - $0.35 per item/lot if for store, $0.85 per item/lot if for live auction
If registered at show - $0.50 per item/lot if for store, $1.00 per item/lot if for live auction
15% of the final sale price is deducted to cover auction expenses.
Consignment store items can not be priced for more than $50.00. Live auction items have no price restriction.
Sellers can request a partial payment for all items sold so far at any time the cash register is open.
Final payouts for sellers are Sunday 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Any payouts not paid out by this time, will be mailed a check on Monday. Any unsold items not picked up by 11:00 AM Sunday become property of the auction.
There is a 3% reserve (a kind of tax) charged on all purchases. All 4 major credit cards or cash are accepted. To encourage cash purchases (which we need to pay sellers), there is a 3% discount for payment in cash. Checks are not accepted. Traveller’s cheques re accepted.
Buyer Registration: There is no charge to get a buyer number, which is needed to bid in the live auction. No registration is needed to buy items in the consignment store.
A buyer tab can be purchased for $50.00. This represents a $50.00 deposit on all items to be purchased, and allows the buyer to accumulate a stack of items before making payment. This deposit may not be returned until the buyer asks to close his tab. At that time, the deposit will be applied to all items currently unpaid for, and then the remainder paid over to the buyer and the tab cancelled.
Don’t enter more than 3 copies of the exact same item for the consignment store – we want to have a bigger variety of items in the store.
We will refuse mildewed items, counterfeit items, and items of no interest to gamers. An R2D2 model kit? Allowed. A bust of John Adams? Not Allowed. A picture book of 3000 Military Ships? Allowed. A picture book of flowers of the Amazon? Not allowed.
Auction is sponsored by Troll And Toad and is being run by The Partnership (Bruce Carson and Jonathan Huston) and managed by Catherine Fountaine. Software provided by Bruce Carson. Website designed by Jonathan Huston and Bruce Carson.
Descriptions of items (color commentary) will be made by Larry Zoet, Jon Huston, and other volunteers.
